Mid-Season team review: Toro Rosso
Toro Rosso, Red Bull’s junior team, is seen as a breeding ground for their young drivers, and has already seen Sebastian Vettel graduate to the Red Bull team. The performance of the team till now seems quite interesting.In 1st 3 races, they only earned 3 points-Alguersuari scored the first points of his career finishing ninth under the new points system at the Malaysian Grand Prix. In next 4 races, they bagged seven more points,thanks to Lewis Hamilton’s penultimate lap crash in Spain and Michael Schumacher’s 20-second penalty for a last turn overtake against Fernando Alonso in Monaco. In the final 3 races,the team performed poorly and had 3 retirements. Jaime Alguersuari Jaime Alguersuari couldn’t score any points in 2009 but this year he has three points from finishes in Malaysia and his home grand prix in Spain. His performance has been consistent,finishing all of his first nine races just outside the top ten. He suffered four retirements although he classified in the results twice and finished just outside the points in the Malaysian Grand Prix. Meanwhile, his teammate had accumulated three points. But the Swiss driver turned the tables and in the following seven outings, he totalled seven points and only a single retirement. In the Canadian Grand Prix, he also managed to lead a lap and eventually managed his best finish of the season in eighth in the race.
